Naaniz Homemade Puran Poli by Anita
Puran Poli is a Indian sweet flatbread from Maharashtra. It is a very popular dish amongst the entire west and southern India also known by other names such as Vedmi in Gujarati, Boli in Tamil, Bakshalu in Telugu, and Obbattu in Kannada.
Naaniz Homemade Puran Poli is made using Wheat flour, Jaggery, Yellow Split Gram, along with ghee, water, and some spice powders. The Puran which is the main ingredient of this recipe is made seperately and then filled as a stuffing inside the wheat flour dough. The stuffed dough is then rolled as a flat bread and then cooked on a tava till golden brown.
It is garnished with ghee on both sides, and served along with hot milk, ghee, or, katachi aamti.
